The History of Bertram Country Christmas

For generations, Bertram has been a community where neighbors come together to celebrate, support one another, and create memories—and Bertram Country Christmas has become one of the special traditions that captures that small-town spirit.
Each December, downtown Bertram comes alive with Christmas lights, decorations, music, vendors, food, family activities, and the annual Christmas parade. What began as a community holiday celebration has grown into a much-anticipated event that brings residents and visitors together to enjoy the Christmas season in true Bertram fashion.
By 2021, Bertram Country Christmas was an established annual celebration organized with the support of the Bertram Chamber of Commerce. That year's event featured vendors, food, Santa, children's activities, live music, a bounce house, and other family-friendly attractions.
The City of Bertram also formally recognizes Bertram Country Christmas as an annual community event and provides support for the celebration, including assistance with street closures and other event needs.
Over the years, the festival has continued to grow while holding onto what makes it special: community. Local businesses, organizations, churches, volunteers, vendors, musicians, families, and community leaders all play a part in bringing the celebration to life.
Today, Bertram Country Christmas offers a full day of holiday fun, including a festive parade, live music, local vendors, food, Santa, children's activities, and opportunities to shop and support local businesses. The annual Run, Run Rudolph Dash has also become part of the festivities, giving children of all ages an opportunity to kick off the celebration with some holiday fun.
More than an event on the calendar, Bertram Country Christmas is a reflection of the character of Bertram itself—a place where people still know their neighbors, businesses are part of the community, and volunteers come together to make something special happen.
As the lights shine along Vaughan Street and families gather downtown each December, Bertram Country Christmas continues a simple tradition: coming together as a community to celebrate Christmas, support local businesses, and make memories that last for years to come.
That is the magic of Christmas in Bertram—and it is a tradition worth celebrating.
